5K Run Route
The tide will be at half ebb so
your beach jog to the bike will
be much shorter than last year.
The duathlon's first run leg will
depart from transition and
move easterly along the shore
for a mile to a turn around cone.
The course has been re-routed as of today, 8/13, since some paving under the RR overpass on
Brown St.  has not begun as expected and the road is just too rough there. It's about 2 miles
longer as a result. It will now continue outbound on Rt 9 Western Ave. to Rt. 1 in Wells, then
northerly to a left turn to Harriseeket Rd. and on to Rt 9A in Kennebunk, Maguire and Whitten
Rd. to then join the traditional course at Mill St.  On the return from the four corners this year,
to do away with  the bike and run traffic together on Boothby Rd., you'll return straight
through Bennett's Corner and to the transition via Sea Rd. rather than the hard left turn down
Western Ave.
The run leg will exit transition from the
end opposite of bike-in and then turn
left on to Valley Avenue, left on
Woodland Avenue, up a slight hill and
then back down to Railroad Ave., and
out to Sea Rd. where it'll pick up with
the traditional route. The lollipop section
off of Boothby Rd. is no longer necessary
with the changes above.  A water stop
will be located about halfway through
the run.
The Course
Duathlon - First leg 2 Mi.

Doing away with last year's 2 loop
run, this year you'll head down
Beach
Ave. and along the shore to hang left
at Pennisnsula Dr., right on Bayberry,
then a left to Evergreen and back on
Penninsula and out to Beach Ave.
again. Once at the Beach House Inn, a
right on Harris Lane, left on Dutcher
and left on Valley Ave. will return to
transition.
