Sprint Swim Course  & Duathlon's First Run Leg
The tide will be near high so your beach jog to the bike will be much shorter than last
year. The duathlon's first run leg will depart from transition and move easterly
(to the
right in the image below)
along the shore in a lollipop fashion before returning.

Sprint & Duathlon Course Profiles
Image is interactive where cursor reverts to palm and will
move in display box to view other parts of the course.
Zoom In/Out tool in upper left corner.

The run leg will exit transition from the end opposite of bike-in and then turn left on to
Valley Avenue, left on Woodland Avenue, up a slight hill and then back down to Railroad
Ave., and out to Sea Rd. A quick run in the shaded portions of Fairway Drive will be
welcomed, then out to Rt 9 for a bit before turning right on cool and shaded Boothby
Rd. and back to the beach. Gatorade and water will be located as soon as you exit
transition and
twice again approx. at 1.5 mi and 2.75 mi. points.
The Sprint & Duathlon bike course leaves the beach via Beach Ave. to Sea Rd and continues
outbound on Rt 9 Western Ave. to Rt. 1 in Wells, then northerly to a left turn to Harriseeket
Rd. and on to Rt 9A in Kennebunk, Maguire and Whitten Rd. to  Mill St., through the Channel
Crossing neighborhood then joining Rt. 35. At the roundabout, the first exit to Storer St.
leads to the Main St. crossover to Water St., then left on Factory Pasture Dr. and up to
Depot St. A right turn on Summer St., over the RR overpass and right again to Sea Rd. returns
you to the beach. (Click on the "Blue" map icons for more info)
